(Started March 9th, 2023) The Top 17 Songs 30 Years Ago According to Billboard

Whereas 10 years previously in 1983 I was familiar with and knew well every song I can’t say the same thing about these songs. Maybe when I listen to them I’ll remember them.

1) I think this song is catchy as hell, but I’m surprised that it soared all the way to #1. Snow “Informer”:

2) Now this is an amazing duet, two magical voices combining together to make a classic. Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle “A Whole New World (Aladdin’s Theme)”:

3) Dr. Dre featuring Snoop Dogg “Nuthin’ But A “G” Thang”:

4) Ten years previously Duran Duran were riding high with “Hungry Like The Wolf”. That song was #5 that week. Duran Duran “Ordinary World”:

5) Whitney Houston “I’m Every Woman”:

6) Silk “Freak Me”:

7) Gone much too soon. Whitney Houston “I Will Always Love You”:

8) Arrested Development “Mr. Wendal”:

9) Jade “Don’t Walk Away”:

10) Bon Jovi “Bed of Roses”:

11) Three Whitney Houston songs in the Top 11, obviously this was when “The Bodyguard” was soaring. Whitney Houston “I Have Nothing”:

12) Oh I have heard this song. Naughty By Nature “Hip Hip Hooray”:

13) Prince and the New Power Generation “7”:

14) Portrait “Here We Go Again”:

15) Shai “Comforter”:

16) The Spin Doctors “Two Princes”:

17) I vaguely remember this song. Bobby Brown “Get Away”:
