These are songs that are one, two and three hit wonders. This is according to America’s Billboard’s Hot One 100 Chart. These songs will be random and I will have one, two or three songs from each musician. But I’m going to only post the songs that I like- thus my favorite of these songs. By hit I mean songs that hit the actual Top 40.
Now just because a band has only one, two or three “hits” is no sign that a band doesn’t have more great songs.
I could make an argument that this is the greatest song by a one hit wonder ever. It’s just a great great song. I can also make the same claim about the ninth song on this list. 1) Gregory Abbott “Shake You Down”:
2) Blue Swede “Hooked On A Feeling”:
3) Klymaxx “Men All Pause”:
4) The Knack “Good Girls Don’t”:
5) Rupert Holmes “Him”:
6) Information Society “Think”:
This song only went to #41 and so I’m cheating here, but this song is just too good to not include. 7) Psychedelic Furs “Pretty In Pink”:
8) Zager and Evans “In The Year 2525”:
9) Sinead O’Connor “Nothing Compares 2 U”:
10) Jermaine Stewart “We Don’t Have To Take Our Clothes Off”:
11) Steve Martin “King Tut”:
12) OMC “How Bizarre”:
13) The Village People “Macho Man”:
14) Vixen “Edge of A Broken Heart”:
15) ? and the Mysterians “96 Tears”:
16) Erasure “A Little Respect”:
17) Fountains of Wayne “Stacy’s Mom”:
