The news broke yesterday that former Smiths bassist Andy Rourke had died. He died from what likely is one of the most vicious of all cancers, pancreatic cancer. 59 is just too damn young to die!! Like the other three original members of the Smiths his biggest musical contributions are what he did with the Smiths. Sorry Moz fans, as am I, but it’s true.
Other than the Smiths work I don’t know much about Andy Rourke, but being the bassist in one of the biggest 80s bands is in the 99th percentile of rock music.
