(Finished September 26th, 2023) Part 5 of The Best of the 80s Music

Hello,

What are the 80s known for? This isn’t in any order by the way. First of all I have to point out the obvious- the 80s are known for the great music. The music in the 80s was so good that even the rap music was good.

Other great things from the 80s 2) the beginning of and the peak of MTV 3) Guess Jeans 4) Feathered Hair/ Big Hair 5) The Beginning of the careers for Madonna and Whitney Houston 6) career peaks for Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie and Prince 7) Tina Turner’s amazing comeback- see song #2 and the comebacks of Aerosmith and Queen (see item number 8) 8) Live Aid 9) The Walkman- I know it’s ridiculous now, but I loved being able to listen to music anywhere I went. It’s something we take for granted now. 10) Great movies with great music in them see “Top Gun”, “Pretty In Pink”, I know this is an oddball one but “Vision Quest”, “Footloose” and “Purple Rain”. Well at least the music for “Purple Rain” was amazing, the movie not so much.

The bands not included in the first blog are Def Leppard, Whitesnake, Foreigner, Journey, Madonna for hell’s sake, Genesis (I do have Phil Collins on the first blog), Peter Gabriel, Pat Benatar, Janet and Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Ozzy, Motley Crue, Dan Fogelberg, Billy Joel, Elton John, U2, INXS, the amazing Stevie Nicks, Huey Lewis and the News, Sheena Easton, REO Speedwagon, Foreigner, Sting, The Police, Heart, Aerosmith, George Michael and Ratt.
