(Finished October 27th, 2023) Part 1 of The Best Songs of the 60s

Hello,

The 60s were one of the wildest decades we’ve ever had. What happened in the 60s? A better question is what didn’t happen in the 60s? The Cuban Missile Crisis, the assassinations of JFK, Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. Also Camelot, the Vietnam War, the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago, The Bay of Pigs fiasco, the Civil Rights movement, Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong are the first men on the moon, “I Have A Dream”, Woodstock, I was born :), construction of the Berlin Wall begins and so many other things. Here are the first of 17 songs of that decade.

I love how the music of the 60s starts out so mellow and proper and ends the decade with The Doors and Led Zeppelin.

1) Percy Faith “Theme From A Summer Place”:

2) Brenda Lee “I’m Sorry”:

3) Chubby Checker “The Twist”:

4) The Ventures “Walk Don’t Run”:

5) Jackie Wilson “Higher and Higher”:

6) Roger Miller “King of The Road”:

7) Tom Jones “It’s Not Unusual”:
