(Finished November 15th, 2023) Part 1 of The Best of the 40s and 50s

Hello,

Inspired by the TV show “Bomb Girls” and the great movie “The Royal Night Out” I decided to post a blog about the best songs of the 40s and 50s. Both deal with World War 2, for the record I know that World War 2 was in the 50s. D Day is one of the dates I look forward to every year. I’ll alternate songs between the 40s and 50s.

1) Kay Kiser “(I Got Spurs That) Jingle Jangle Jingle”:

2) Frank Sinatra “I’ve Got The World On A String”:

3) The Andrews Sisters “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy”:

4) Ray Charles “What I’d Say”:

5) The Glenn Miller Orchestra “Chattanooga Choo Choo”:

6) Elvis Presley “Jailhouse Rock”:

7) Bing Crosby “I’ll Be Seeing You”:

8) Frank Sinatra “Love and Marriage”:

9) Nat “King” Cole “Nature Boy”:

10) Dave Brubeck “Take Five”:

11) Woody Guthrie “This Land Is Your Land”:

12) The Penguins “Earth Angel”:

13) The Andrews Sisters “Don’t Sit Under The Apple Tree”:

14) The Chordettes “Lollipop”:

15) Bing Crosby & The Andrews Sisters “Ac-Cent-Tcho-Ate The Positive”:

Probably the best song of the 50s. 16) The Platters “Smoke Gets In Your Eyes”:

17) Sons of the Pioneers “Cool Water”:
