Hello,
This is the first of many of the greatest songs from 80s movies or Broadway plays. Coincidentally these are also many of the greatest songs of the 80s.
I’m going to mostly focus on the songs that were current with the movies, but I will include a few of the classics that came many years before the movies that they are in.
35) From American Gigolo Blondie “Call Me”:
The lovely Martha Quinn with the announcement about the movie, the song and a possible Chernobyl charity event:
36) Night Ranger “Wild and Innocent Youth”:
37) From “Karate Kid” Survivor “The Moment of Truth”:
38) From “Summer Lovers” Depeche Mode “Just Can’t Get Enough”:
39) From “Batman” Prince “The Future”:
40) From “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” General Public “Taking The Day Off”:
41) “The Electric Horseman” was released in 1979, but this song was released in 1980. Willie Nelson “My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys”:
42) From “The Big Chill” The Four Tops “It’s The Same Old Song”:
43) From Beverly Hills Cop “Stir It Up”:
44) From “Dirty Dancing” Eric Carmen “Hungry Eyes”:
45) From “Disorderlies” Bananarama “I Heard A Rumor”:
Did Pebbles have any other great jams after “Girlfriend”, “Mercedes Boy” and “Giving You The Benefit”? Maybe so, but I’m kind of meh with this song. 46) From “Beverly Hills Cop 2” Pebbles “Love/Hate”:
It’s been awhile since I’ve seen this movie so I didn’t remember the context for this song, but now I do. All I know is it’s a great song. 47) From “Blues Brothers” “Theme From Rawhide”:
48) From “Gung Ho” Twisted Sister “We’re Not Gonna Take It”:
This is an incredibly cool song. 49) From “Rain Man” “Iko Iko”:
50) From “Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome” Tina Turner “We Don’t Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)”:
51) From “Good Morning Vietnam” The Searchers “Sugar and Spice”:
