Hello,
Which version of two songs is better? These are two different versions of the same song. They are usually by different musicians, but not always. Sometimes it’s like the first song, it was an electric version with Derek and the Dominos and then an acoustic version. Sometimes it will be a musician remaking their own song many years later. Then I will make a judgment which is better.
35) Crazy Horse “I Don’t Want To Talk About It”:
36) Rod Stewart featuring Amy Belle “I Don’t Want To Talk About It”:
Not even close as Rod and Amy’s version is much better.
I’m not sure what that weird thing of this video is though. 37) The Kinks “You Really Got Me”:
38) Van Halen “You Really Got Me”:
39) Oingo Boingo “You Really Got Me”:
I have to give Van Halen’s version a little bit of an edge. I do like the rawness of the Kinks version though. As for the Oingo Boingo cover, it’s just a bit weird but oddly endearing.
40) Tears For Fears “Mad World”:
41) Gary Jules “Mad World”:
42) Jasmine Thompson “Mad World”:
This depends on your mood. If you’re more in a rocking mood I would suggest the Tears For Fears. If you’re more in a mellow mood I would suggest the Gary Jules version. However Jasmine Thompson’s version is also very good, I love her voice singing this song.
43) The Archies “Sugar Sugar”:
Yes really! I was also shocked about a Bob Marley cover of this song. 44) Bob Marley and the Wailers “Sugar Sugar”:
I love me some Bob Marley, he has so many great songs. However reggae and this song are not a good mix. I’m going to have to go with the Archies version- even though they are a fake band.
45) Moody Blues “Nights In White Satin”:
46) Planet Funk “Nights In White Satin”:
It’s hard to believe these two songs are the samish song. The lyrics are the same, but the music is vastly different. I quite like both versions of this song. As for the Dickies song with the same title I have no idea what that is.
47) Al Green featuring B.B. King, Lenny Kravitz and Sheryl Crow “Take Me To The River”:
48) The Talking Heads “Take Me To The River”:
I’m quite surprised by my choice here, but I prefer the Al Green version. Having B.B. King and Sheryl Crow don’t hurt any either.
49) The Shirelles “Dedicated To The One I Love”:
50) The Mamas and the Papas “Dedicated To The One I Love”:
51) Songs From The Canyon “Dedicated To The One I Love”:
The Shirelles version comes off a bit aggressive. The Mamas and Papas version starts out slow and then kicks into gear. The Songs From The Canyon version is easily my favorite version of the three. I don’t know the exact lingo, but their version has a fuller sound.
52) The Beatles “We Can Work It Out”:
53) Stevie Wonder “We Can Work It Out”:
I like the funk of Stevie’s version, but the Beatles win this musical battle easily.
