(Finished March 22nd, 2025) Part 1 of The Best Duets of the 1980s

Hello,

From my very brief research it seems like the 80s was the best decade for duets. That ten year period had so many of the greatest duets of all-time. Billboard ranked the Top 40 Duets of All-Time and 18 of them were from the 80s. Here’s those 18 songs and many other great songs from that decade. Duet is a very loose term here, but I did the best I could.

1) Michael Jackson and Siedah Garrett “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You”:

2) Peter Cetera and Amy Grant “The Next Time I Fall”:

3) Olivia Newton John and David Foster “The Best of Me”:

4) Aretha Franklin and George Michael “I Knew You Were Waiting For Me”:

5) Carl Anderson and Gloria Loring “Friends and Lovers”:

6) Hall and Oates “You Make My Dreams”:

7) Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around”:

8) Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes “I’ve Had The Time Of My Life”:

9) Phil Collins and Philip Bailey “Easy Lover”:

10) Patti Austin and James Ingram “Baby, Come To Me”:

11) Linda Ronstadt and Aaron Neville “Don’t Know Much”:

12) Paula Abdul and The Wild Pair “Opposites Attract”:

13) Phil Collins and Marilyn Martin “Separate Lives”:

14) Patti Labelle and Michael McDonald “On My Own”:

15) Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton “Islands In The Stream”:

16) Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder “Ebony and Ivory”:
