(Finished October 2nd, 2025) Part 1 of The Best CDs of the 70s + 100ish of the Best 70s Songs Not On Those CDs.

Hello,

I thought it would be easy to come up with 100 of the greatest CDs of the 70s. After working on this project I’ve only come up with about 30 CDs- I’m still waiting to make a decision on ELO’s “A New World Record”. There are so many “classic” CDs I don’t think are that great. Never been a big fan of David Bowie’s “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars”. But “Suffragette City” is a great song. It has some great songs, but overall it doesn’t move me much. Stevie Wonder has some great 70s songs, but I’m not a big fan of any of his 70s CDs. From my limited research so many 70s CDs were a couple of great songs and a bunch of filler.

You’ll see what musicians I like, including my favorite rock band Led Zeppelin. I also liked a lot of the Disco music of the time. You’ll also notice I love ELO, Pink Floyd, The Knack- now “Get The Knack” is a complete CD. Every song on it is great.

I anticipate finding more great 70s CDs and will add those as I discover them. I’m going to include the songs from the Greatest 70s CDs along with about 100 of the other greatest songs of the 70s randomly. Enjoy!!
