(Finished November 3rd, 2025) Part 1 of The Two Time Defending World Series Champs: Los Angeles Dodgers and “Welcome To Derry”: The Best Songs of 1962

Hello,

Your Los Angeles Dodgers completed their amazing second consecutive World Series title by beating a tough Toronto Blue Jays team. Also I watched Season 1, episode 2 of the “It” prequel “Welcome To Derry” tonight. It’s titled “The Thing In The Dark”. I love some of the music in the show. I’m going to alternate songs about being a champion with selected best songs of 1962.

1) Shelley Fabares “Johnny Angel”:

2) Queen “We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions”:

3) The Shirelles “Soldier Boy”:

4) Santana “Winning”:

I know that “The Twist” was a big fad in 1962. But it’s crazy there are about 10 twist related songs in 1962’s year end countdown. 5) Chubby Checker “The Twist”:

6) This song plays at Dodgers Stadium after every win. Randy Newman “I Love LA”:

7) Gene Chandler “Duke of Earl”:

8) Whitney Houston “One Moment In Time”:

9) Brian Hyland “Sealed With A Kiss”:

10) Kool and the Gang “Celebration”:

11) Gene Pitney “The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance”:

12) Tina Turner “The Best”:

13) The Beach Boys “Surfin’ Safari”:

14) Creed “Higher”:

15) Patsy Cline “She’s Got You”:

16) McFadden and Whitehead “Ain’t No Stoppin’ Us Now”:

17) The Four Seasons “Sherry”:

18) Joe Esposito “You’re The Best”:
