(Finished March 14th, 2026) Part 2 of The Most Powerful Songs Of All-Time

Hello,

What makes a song powerful. A few reasons why, but not all, obviously the music is powerful- see the “Phantom of the Opera” “Overture”. The message is powerful- see Bruce Springsteen’s “The Rising”, Lauren Daigle’s “Still Rolling Stones”, or Terry Jacks “Seasons In The Sun”.

Or a song can be powerful in it’s message like The Chicks “Not Ready To Make Nice”.

A song can also have a powerful vocal, like Sinead O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares 2 U” or her almost as powerful “Success Has Made A Failure of Our Home”. Of course that would include Aretha’s “Respect” or Frida’s “I Know There’s Something Going On”.

Or a song is just powerful from a combination of many things. Or a song that can be powerful because of the way it makes you feel.
