Hello,
From an american idiot I suggest you go out and buy Green Day’s “American Idiot”.
It’s the 20th anniversary of one of the best CDs of this century, that CD being Green Day’s “American Idol”. At a point when I thought Green Day’s career was over or at least near the end they roared out with the fantastic, amazing “American Idiot”. It was released over 20 years ago and in that time it has sold over 23 million copies.
As is record companies want there will be a massive reissue of this CD being released, which will happen on October 25th. Thanks to amazon for bringing that to my front door.
According to amazon the package I’m getting is this:
“…the super deluxe box sets include 15 unreleased demos, a 15-song 2004 concert from Irving Plaza, NYC (9 songs previously unreleased), and 15 tracks that were released as B-Sides and bonus tracks. The box set is completed with two Blu-rays that feature the film “Heart Like A Hand Grenade”, 35 minutes of Green Day live at the BBC, and a new, unreleased documentary: “20 Years of American Idiot”.The CD box includes 4 CDs and 2 Blu Ray discs (the same audio/video content as the vinyl box), 48-page book, an enamel pin set, sticker sheet, and cloth patch.”
To me that’s a pretty solid package and obviously it continues the original CD, the songs of which are below.
1) “American Idiot”:
2a) “Jesus of Suburbia” is broken down into the following.
– “Jesus of Suburbia”:
– “City of the Damned”;
– “I Don’t Care”:
– “Dearly Beloved”:
– “Tales of Another Broken Home”:
2b) “Jesus of Suburbia” (Live):
3) “Holiday”:
This is the song that really drew my attention to this amazing CD. 4a) “Boulevard of Broken Dreams”:
4b) “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” (Live at Reading Festival)”:
5) “Are We The Waiting”:
6) “St. Jimmy”:
7) “Give Me Novacaine”:

9) “Extraordinary Girl”:
10) “Letterbomb”:
11) “Wake Me Up When September Ends”:
12) “Homecoming”:
– “The Death of St. Jimmy”:
– “East 12th Street”:

Now time for my favorite Green Day song. 13a) “Whatsername”:
13b) “Whatsername”:
Here are some of the demos that are on the 20th Anniversary edition. I think these are the demos from the 20th Anniversary, I could be wrong.
14) “American Idiot (Demo):
15) “Jesus of Suburbia” (Demo):
I found a video that said it would be live in 13 days. 16) “She’s A Rebel” (Demo):
17) “Cluster Bomb (Cigarettes and Valentines)” (Demo):
Also live in 13 days. 18) “Everybody’s Breaking Down” (Demo):
19) “Just Another Year” (Demo):
20) “Lowlife” (Demo):
This is an alternative version, not sure if it’s a demo. This is fairly powerful, just not as powerful as the original. Dedicated to all of our exes, wherever they are. 21) “Whatsername” (Demo):
