Hello,
As so often as I do I thought of this blog idea as I was listening to my iPod on my morning walk. First I was going to post the songs from “Pretty In Pink” and another soundtrack CD full of New Wave classics. I couldn’t find another 80s soundtrack full of New Wave classics. I picked a few New Wave classics from 80s movies and a couple of random New Wave songs. The first ten songs are the songs from “Pretty In Pink”.
1) Orchestral Manoeuvres In the Dark “If You Leave”:
2) Suzanne Vega with Joe Jackson “Left of Center”:
3) Jesse Johnson “Get To Know Ya”:
4) INXS “Do Wot You Do”:
5) The Psychedelic Furs “Pretty In Pink”:
6) New Order “Shellshock”:
7) Belouis Some “Round, Round”:
8) Danny Hutton Hitters “Wouldn’t It Be Good”:
9) Echo and The Bunnymen “Bring On The Dancing Horses”:
10) The Smiths “Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want This Time”:
11) Thompson Twins “If You Were Here”:
Hearing this song made me want to go back to 1985 and stay for awhile. 12) “Don’t You Forget About Me”:
13) Wang Chung “Fire In The Twilight”:
14) Oingo Boingo “Weird Science”:
15) The Bangles “Hazy Shade of Winter”:
16) Echo and the Bunnymen “People Are Strange”:
17) Red Hot Chili Peppers “Taste The Pain”:
18a) Depeche Mode “Stripped”:
This is a very interesting cover of the above song. 18b) Rammstein “Stripped”:
19)The Smiths “How Soon Is Now”:
20) Echo and the Bunnymen “The Cutter”:
